Having a victim mindset means things are always happening TO you. There are always outside circumstances to be blamed and it was never your fault.

We have all been there, feeling like we did not deserve what happened to us but victimhood can quickly embed itself into our narrative.

The extent to which we embody this victimhood defines how we view ourselves but wonderful things start happening once we let go of that mentality:

1. Self-fulfiling prophecies

The universe rewards those who do not drown in self-pity. Sure sometimes it takes time to accept reality and our own healing process is a gradual one.

But connecting fake dots to draw patterns that are not there does not help anyone.

An example could be going on a few bad dates and concluding that you are unlucky in love. Maybe it was bad timing. But adopting an approach where you have already predicted a negative outcome is toxic.

When you stop piling on all the negative things that happened to you in the past in a nice sob story and look to the future with faith, you are saying no to a victim mindset.
