So many of us are spending the holidays alone this year. Either because we are isolating/sick or travel plans cancelled (or other reasons too but those are very relevant to this year).

I had to cancel my trip back home, most of friends went back to the US or France and I did not have the energy to spend Christmas with acquaintances.

This morning I went to grab a coffee before everything closed down for Christmas day.I caught a conversation between the baristas and the customer in front of me about holiday plans.

She said Netflix and a drink was going to be it because her trip to Vancouver got slashed. When the barista asked me the same question, I gave a similar answer (hot chocolate instead of a drink). The two baristas acknowledged.

I was surprised, it seems a lot of us are not celebrating Christmas and a lot of us are alone too for the holiday period.

Here are a few reminders and pick-me up for the ones not feeling the holiday cheer this year:

1. We are all in this together

It is easy to feel lonely during this period, especially when you see the environment around you…
