A letter of resignation, if we lived in an authentic and honest world
I wondered what a resignation letter would look like if people were really honest about their feelings.
I have written a few resignation letters during my career, which were mostly very professional and formal.
Hopefully I wrote my final one, if not, I would be firing myself in the future!
My ideal resignation letter, if done in full integrity and authenticity, would be something like this:
Dear Sir,
I thank you for the opportunity for having joined your prestigious organisation. I came in with big dreams on how I was going to grow and contribute to make the company a better place.
I came in with great expectations, to give it my all and contribute to make the company flourish.
The optimist in me believed in a great culture fit, my personality matched your ambitions. We were going to build something for society and make the world a better place.
I believed the attractive taglines and the mission statement. I am not blaming anyone but myself.
Afterall, expectation is a dream killer. Above all, one should never underestimate the power of a great marketing team and overactive recruitment for talent.
