Escape From The Matrix Or Escape From Life, Choice Is Yours
The red pill or the blue pill
I watched the first movie The Matrix when I was in my 20s. I didn’t understand half of it. But the more my life unfolded, the more it made sense. One thing that was clear to me is that the red pill and the blue pill theory is valid.
If you take the red pill, you are choosing to face an unsettling, life-changing truth. The blue pill represents the unquestioned life and continuing with the status quo.
While the storyline is fictional, the matrix became a cult and a phrase we refer to when we want to run away from society.
We are always escaping
At any point in time (at any decision), we are either moving away from the matrix or succumbing to escapism. We avoid life when it gets too much: be it vacations, entertainment, or unhealthy habits. And we escape from the matrix when we take a conscious effort to defy ways of living that seem to be pre-ordained.
The more we indulge in escapism, the deeper the rabbit hole into the matrix. Because avoiding life is a temporary band-aid while a plan to exit the matrix is a permanent solution.
