Failure Is Only A Signal To Success
I grew up believing failure is fatal. I would wear a perfectly ironed uniform, have a perfect demeanor and stand up with a perfect posture in classroom shouting: ‘Good morning Miss!’.
Mistakes were made by others, we could not afford them. Losing one point on an exam felt like something was wrong with us.
Maybe we did not study hard enough or maybe just not good enough yet.
When you are raised in that environment, where failure is not encouraged, life becomes difficult to navigate aftwards.
You opt for the only things that you know will work out, basically living cautiously.
Iterations to success
But that means you do not have the benefit of iteration and seeing what works and what does not. Failure encourages critical thinking where we can analyse what went wrong and do better next time.
Life is not binary, there is no such thing as only option A and only option B. It is only our perception that is so. Sometimes option A does not work…until option Z.
But that leads us to version A.1 which could be the one answer we were looking for.
