Our inner child is one of the keys to finding our calling or our missions in life.

Inner child in therapy

In psychotherapy, the inner child is part of our subsconscious that has been picking up signals from our environment.

Because we were not fully mature, we absorbed those memories, especially bad ones or traumatic experiences leaving our adult self with a wounded inner child.

I am not a therapist and I will leave the healing part of the inner child to experts.

Here, I wanted to delve into how I use the concept of inner child as a starting point to purposeful living.

Where did your child go?

See when we were children, there are things we loved doing and that came naturally to us.

The first thing I remember as a child is reading. I was always into books and was known as the ‘bookworm’ at school.

Our inner child is still present within us as adults.

Sometimes when I feel like I not living up to my purpose, it is like my inner child is speaking to me and poking me to wake up.
