How to land your next gig, inspired by a true story that happened today
A random day at a coffee shop where somebody potentially found his first job
I am celebrating a week of the digital ‘nomad’ life. I use the term nomad loosely because I only mean digital coffee hopping around Canada. And one week down, I have already learnt so much more than a year in a job.
I work at this coworking space with great coffee and it is always packed with people. Today there was a photoshoot happening, with a very professional looking blonde woman clad in white, being the object of the shoot. She was charismatic. I usually sit a long desk and there was a couple beside me, working as well.
The guy talked briefly to his girlfriend and she said the words go for it out loud. And he stood up and went straight to the blonde woman (the shoot was on a break at that point). I was fascinated, I had not yet opened my laptop yet.
After the initial surprise of being approached by a random stranger, the woman looked excited. They spoke some more, and the guy came back to sit next to me. The woman talked to what it seemed to be the business partner, a suited man who looked like he is ready to take over anyone’s life.
