Adult friendships seem hard but does not need to be

Making friends is a big chapter of my life. Having lived in 4 countries and travelled extensively, I am so happy that I have friends everywhere.

At 36, I found a new support system in Canada where I am based.

So I am sharing my lessons from what I have observed around me, hoping it helps. The world is getting lonelier in spite of population growth, the irony.

In any case, I will be your friend on Medium. *Hugs* to any one who needs it.

The problem: Making friends as adults is hard

I do not think it is extending a hand in friendship that is difficult. It is creating bonds and maintaining those that is trickier.

When we were younger, we were automatically exposed to more people, at schools, universities, volunteering events or extra-curricular actitivies.

Once we start our careers, start building families or cement our routines, we just see fewer people.

Gradually, the people we were close to, embark upon different journeys and we lose touch.

And then all of a sudden, it is 2022 and we miss our friendships, our shared moments, our memories.
