How To Prioritise Your Tasks When You Want To Do Everything Right
Do you feel the need to get to the end of everything in a flawless manner? I wanted everything done perfectly, in a said order and if I missed out on tasks, the day was lost on me.
Until I realised I am human and came up with strategies for a ‘good enough’ day.
Perfectionism
People with perfectionist tendencies have an opposite approach: the ‘never satisfied’ one. And what that does, is that it keeps you in a never-ending loophole trying to make everything perfect.
But perfect is subjective. What looks absolutely flawless to you might look just ok to me and vice versa. We all have different tastes, perspectives and attitudes to life. When we aim for ‘perfection’, it actually means ‘perfect’ according to us.
It can feel overwhelming for perfectionists as we tend to dwell on one thing until completion and not start others. This can be harmful in certain settings where we have to juggle tasks and/or meet deadlines. It can also mean being late to meetings or personal appointments as we get stuck on that one thing.
Yup, definitely happened to me on a few occasions.
