SMART is an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound. It is a widely used goal framing tool that is used in business and for career goals setting among others.

Goal setting allows us to build a visual of our journey to our destination.

Whether in a professional setting or personal setting, it can establish the right foundation to set you up for success. It is extremely helpful as it can frame vague ideas or wishful thinking into concrete actionable points.

I have applied it many times during the past few years with a lot of success.

Some people do not believe in New year’s resolutions and the hype about goal setting at the beginning of the year. I believe in riding the extra energy and optimism that comes with the start of a new year and fresh wave of hope.

This year I wrote my goals in November as I completed all my goals for the year, earlier than expected. Apologies if this sounds like am gloating, this has never happened before.
