One way to use overthinking to your advantage
Overthinkers are often chastised for being too much in their head. While it is true that the act of overanalysing something hinders people from acting, the opposite can also be said that it has saved them from many dangerous situations.
Overthinking is subjective. A writer has to think a lot, he has to ponder and connect dots. Like going on a solitary walk and creating ideas in his head. He needs time alone in his space where, after an idea brewing process he has to write.
Yet if you compare an accountant to a writer, the latter would be deemed an overthinker.
I have often been told I think too much. I just think I was in the wrong environment. I think people do not think before acting. I am not talking about being a doer and not a thinker and not going for your dreams.
I am talking about how society is going at warp speed and we need to act so quickly that people who take time to process and reflect are taught to catch up.
Make sure that before calling yourself an overthinker, you are not surrounded by ‘under-thinkers’.
