Screw The 5am Club. It Is Not For Everyone.
I am a huge proponent of morning routines.
But the idea that it has to start at 4am or 5am to set you up for success is great for selling books only.
If you wake up at 5 means you own your life. How about 6 am or 7 am? Are we losers then?
How my mornings evolved
Ever since I quit the corporate life, I wake up at 8 am. For some people, that might be lazy.
But this is what happens when you start living a life true to you: you work around your body clock.
Especially true for creatives. Also night-owls. Before getting a society approved career, I used to be a night owl. And it worked out well.
Then I got a fancy career where I was also forced to have breakfast. I hated breakfast, the idea of anything in my stomach before my body was fully awake made me nauseous.
Then I had breakfast meetings and sometimes ‘carby’ perks; free doughuts to make the process less painful.
Why am I telling you this? Because I have ended up meeting a lot of people like me.
And I have also met a lot more people not like me. They wake up early and kick…
