Advice from someone who spent 5 weeks in self-isolation and came out stronger

The story starts with a sunny day in spring this year; the first day of proper sunshine somewhat announcing the end of a long winter. I went about my own Saturday activities which included aimless walking.

Suddenly, I saw the influx of people walking around me and I was in a daze. I cut my trip short and went home. I used to love big groups and suddenly I have social anxiety. But fact is we have all transformed these past two years.

This festive season this year is definitely more relaxed compared to last year’s. Chances are you can go visit your family and carry on more social interactions.

But there are some of us, like me, who cannot travel back home due to new Omicron restrictions. There are some of us who will still spend a lot of time alone. There are some of us who will still be spending Christmas without their family. There are some of us who had someone and suddenly we are single again.

Especially considering winter season, some of us will still spend a lot more time indoors than we probably expected.

I have written down some of the ways I spent my weeks in self-isolation, joyfully if I can say so. I…
