Walking 132,000 Steps Over 6 Days Became a Game Changer for My Life
Few weeks ago, I hit a low point. Business was down, potential clients were being erratic, my break-up was final and I caught Omicron.
It was time for a reset.
I love walking, that is when I do my best thinking. But I did not expect to walk this much, being in a new city (New-York) and in exploration mode helped.
Overcoming the blues
Aimless walking where you do not know where you will end up is free therapy. Watching people and observing the scenes while being in movement takes you away from your troubles.
On day one, I walked about 20K steps which is a normal amount when I am on holidays. On day 3, I hit my 20K mark in the early afternoon then a friend joined me for coffee.
Being a New-Yorker and hearing about my walking routines, he was motivated to accompany me. And also took the chance to show me around town.
I ended up hitting more than 41K steps.
At one point, my legs started feeling heavy but I was keen on having my first dollar pizza at the end of our destination.
