Your Problem Is Your Overflowing Talent And Underwhelming Consistency
You have to show up, day in and day out. Raw talent is overrated.
The headlone is what I wrote on an A4 piece of paper that I am going to frame soon. It is an anti-climax to a positive reinforcement.
Yet it is not a toxic thought. It is an awakening that applies to MOST of us.
The rest are like my uncle’s best friend who used to show up at our house drunk and playing victim. He was always broke and depressed, relying on my uncle’s good nature for survival.
He had no talent, not that I can remember, except his ability to drink during daytime.
But most of us are not him. We are gifted and we know we have potential. Except we lack consistency. Somehow we think the talent is just going to burst out of us and somebody is going to notice.
This is like somebody showing up on our doorsteps and saying: “here is a million dollar” (maybe it does happen to a lucky few, are you going to bet your chances on that?).
You are not lazy. You are not unmotivated. You are not unlucky. Simply you lack the knowledge of just how many tries it take.
I was that person. By all means, I was pretty successful by society’s standards. But…
